Hello everyone, it’s been a while! I thought I’d give a little life update to you first, I took the very scary plunge and handed in my notice at my job without having a job to go to, eek! I absolutely love everyone I work with and I have friends for life there but I became ever so comfortable in a job that isn’t in my chosen career sector. After months of thinking about it, I decided to say goodbye and go into 2018, currently, jobless but with the focus of starting my career. If anyone has done the same I’d love to have a pal in the same boat as it’s a big step to take!

Looking back at 2017, it has been an amazing year! A few bumps but all round I can look back and see how much more of a grown up I am (although I still find ‘adulting’ difficult!). I’ve been to so many gigs, Glastonbury and took a holiday to Berlin. I have pushed myself in many aspects and my confidence has grown dramatically this year.

I’m going to set myself some 2018 goals to push myself further as a person, these goals are going to be ambitious but I am so self motivated at the moment that I think it’s good to set them now!

2018 goals

  • Get a job I really enjoy in my chosen career
  • Travel alone, even just for a couple days. Book a flight to somewhere I really want to go and brave the fear to visit a city all by myself
  • Work out more and tone up my body
  • Meditate frequently and be more spiritually aware
  • Be more eco friendly, make eco-concious decisions, everything from food to clothing
  • Buy less and make my purchases more worth while, invest in key pieces
  • Take better care of my skin and find a treatment that works for my acne
  • Spend more time looking for inspiration, don’t let myself feel stagnant in what inspires me
  • Join a class, whether that be yoga, drawing, pottery etc.
  • Read more books, these being novels not just fashion books
  • Book more festivals, gigs and theatre tickets

I feel my goals list is aspirational but also achievable! This year has been great, I’ve become even closer to all my best friends. I’m creating more and more stories and experiences that I can’t wait to retell when I’m older.

I’d love to know everyone else’s 2018 goals so please do comment below or send me a message!

Have a lovely week, and if I don’t post again beforehand, MERRY CHRISTMAS!!

Being tall and having the confidence to wear heels

PAIGE12 (1 of 1)

I hope everyone is having a great Sunday! I thought I’d do a post talking about being tall and FINALLY having the confidence to wear heels. I say heels, I’m so not a heels kind of girl, so for this post I’m talking about heeled boots and wearing them casually in the day.

PAIGE17 (1 of 1)PAIGE4 (1 of 1)PAIGE16 (1 of 1)

I purchased these boots from Zara last year in the Black Friday sale for around £40. I must admit this is only the third time I’ve worn them. I love them, they’re amazing, they’re statement and they’re the most classic patent red with a zip pull at the back. There’s no denying my love for them, but I’m just so goddam tall in them! I’m a shade off 6ft in flats so these boots do make me incredibly tall. A 6ft4 girl walking down the streets can attract unwanted attention. Such as, whilst CJ was taking these photos we got shouted/whistled at three times by middle aged men, disgusting. This is something that massively puts me off wearing heels, I strongly detest anyone thinking they have any right to shout objectifying comments at me.

But after chats with my friend Daisy, who is also tall we dismissed negative comments and discussed the amount of amazing heeled boots we have that we never wear, purely down to fear of being really tall. We made a pact for whenever we see each other we’ll both wear heeled boots, boosting each others confidence and also having someone to moan to when your feet are hurting.

PAIGE13 (1 of 1)PAIGE11 (1 of 1)PAIGE8 (1 of 1)

I’ve always been tall and towered over boys, so I now figure I’m just going to tower over them even more. I wouldn’t change being tall for the world as I think it’s a massive part of my personality. And I’m not going to be sad because I can’t buy sassy heeled boots, I’m just going to buy them and wear them until my heart’s content.

PAIGE10 (1 of 1)PAIGE19

If you’re tall like me, average or petite I think heels in any situation give you a confidence boost. I’m not sure how this works but I always feel more powerful when I have heels on, don’t you?

PAIGE18 (1 of 1)PAIGE5 (1 of 1)PAIGE6 (1 of 1)

I paired these boots with my new corduroy kick flares from The Cords & Co that I’m so chuffed to have been gifted, I got Elin in black. Although they’re quite cropped on me, with a higher ankle boot they work really well. A new t-shirt of mine is from Hundred Club, they have some really amazing ‘Ganni’ vibes designs and for each design there’s only 100 made. I nabbed no.31 so definitely check out their site before the no.100 is gone! I’m also wearing my trusty aviator jacket which has been a staple of mine since I purchased it earlier this year. Along with my usual bag and rayban sunglasses borrowed from CJ, I really like this outfit.

Moving into Autumn/Winter

Processed with VSCO with a5 presetProcessed with VSCO with a5 presetProcessed with VSCO with a6 preset

Autumn is an awkward season to dress for, I’m often finding myself leaving the house with a jumper and coat, then by lunchtime I’m sat in just a t-shirt as it’s suddenly super warm. Finding that ‘not too hot not too cold’ balance seems to be difficult in October.

Laurie and I didn’t dress specifically for a transitional A/W post but I think our outfits suit this blog topic pretty well.

Processed with VSCO with a5 presetProcessed with VSCO with a5 presetProcessed with VSCO with a5 presetProcessed with VSCO with a6 presetProcessed with VSCO with a6 preset

I’m wearing my dogtooth check coat. I adore this coat, if you’ve watched my Berlin Vlog you’ll have seen I was incredibly happy with this purchase. It’s from a really lovely store called Edited, a German based brand that has the most beautiful VM with staff that are super cool and so helpful! I think this coat is going to serve me so so well throughout autumn as it’s not particularly thick so it’s great with just a shirt but also roomy enough to fit thick jumper underneath.

I also have on my Alexa Chung for M&S silky shirt that my mum picked up for me in the sale, for I think around £7 (chuffed!). Although it has slightly shrunk in the wash it’s such a staple, I reckon I wear it at least once a week. I paired with it my vinyl skirt from H&M, which surprisingly isn’t that sweaty or squeaky! Saying that, I can’t sit on leather seats whilst wearing it as I definitely have to peel myself off of it, not cute!

Processed with VSCO with a6 presetProcessed with VSCO with a6 presetProcessed with VSCO with a6 preset

Jewellery wise, I have been gifted this necklace and bracelet from Adore Jewellery. They’re gold plated with Swarovski crystals, I love that they’re multi coloured so with a plain outfit they look really cool but also look great with a colourful outfit.

I’m also wearing my black ankle boots from ASOS, even though they’re not leather, they’re wearing so well. They do have a slight heel, which makes me even taller than I already am but luckily Laurie had big heels on too. Processed with VSCO with a6 presetProcessed with VSCO with a6 presetProcessed with VSCO with a5 preset

Laurie is wearing a Hiver 87 A.P.C t-shirt which is definitely a staple for autumn. Paired with a pair of dark wash kick flare jeans that fit her so well. They’re high waisted with a front seam that makes them look so classy. Teamed with a very classic cut leather jacket that honestly feels like butter it’s so lovely. I really like that it’s not a typical biker fit, but rather a similar centre front zip and popper. Definitely need a similar one for my wishlist! Laurie’s shoes are a platform pair of Gucci boots that she tells me are surpassingly comfy to walk in. Processed with VSCO with a6 presetProcessed with VSCO with a6 presetProcessed with VSCO with a6 presetProcessed with VSCO with a6 presetProcessed with VSCO with a6 presetProcessed with VSCO with a5 preset

Berlin | day 3 & 4

Sunday 10th September

On Sunday we went to Lollapalooza, a festival just outside of Berlin. I wore my new paisley shirt I picked up from a vintage shop the day before, my H&M vinyl skirt, vans and a really nice bomber jacket I borrowed off Monika.

The view from Monika’s rooftop.

Lollapalooza Berlin

Lollapalooza is a two day weekend festival, we went on the Sunday as Foo Fighters were head lining and I’ve got to say they were absolutely incredible! Dave Grohl is on another level.

Luckily Sunday was the warmest and sunniest day in Berlin!

Making the most of cheap beer.

Loving the glitter tassels! Lollapalooza was much bigger than we thought it would be so we spent ages exploring!

Monday 11th September

We headed to House of Small Wonder for brunch that was delicious before heading to the most incredible botanical garden outside of Berlin.

House of Small Wonder

Pretty houses I want to live in.

Botanical Gardens Berlin

The most amazing gardens I’ve ever been to! It was absolutely huge and full of plants from all over the planet. I could have spent days here walking around and falling in love with all the incredible plants they have here.

Jacket – Zara. Shirt – ASOS. Skirt – Beyond Retro. Shoes – Newlook. Bag – Skinny Dip.

I can’t even drive but when I do I want a car like this one.

Berlin Wall

Definitely couldn’t have come to Berlin without visiting the Berlin wall.

My last night in Berlin and the sunset was so beautiful walking from the U-Bahn to Monika’s flat. Really missing this place!

Tuesday 12th September

My early morning flight meant I got to watch the sunrise which was a plus for a 3am wake up call. I had such an amazing time in Berlin and cannot wait to go back sometime soon!

I also vlogged my trip so if you haven’t already, check out my youtube here!

Berlin | day 1 & 2

Friday 7th September

I arrived late Thursday night so we quickly went for pizza then back to Monika’s. We woke up to such a nice view in the morning and made the most of the balcony. For brunch we headed to Daluma for acai bowls and matcha latte’s (new fave drink). Berlin has such cool coffee shops where everyone is so chilled and laid back, it’s such a nice environment.

Soda Books

Book store heaven, I could have easily spent hours in here looking at all the books. They have everything from fashion books and city guides to photography and architecture.

Edited Store

Drawn in by their window displays, Edited is my new favourite shop. The assistants were so lovely as we tried on so much and asked for opinions. Not only are their blush velvet sofa’s incredible, the whole store environment is a dream. I purchased the coat below and I’m really in love with it. As soon as Monika and I walked in, I knew it had to be mine. It’s the perfect length and the nicest check. Definitely going back to this store.

With so many pretty streets, and a break in the rain, Monika took some photos of me. Blazer – charity shop. T-shirt – Alexachung. Skirt – Beyond Retro. Boots – ASOS. Bag – Skinny Dip.

Rose Garden

Amazing homemade cakes and coffee’s. The start of a weekend full of all the calories and caffeine.

Soho House

A store and hotel where you wish you could afford everything and what I want my future house to look like. We fell in love with these stone/crystal tables and all the plants. I purchased a self motivation book as they always come in handy!

Saturday 9th September

IMG_3772 2

Hands down the best brunch I’ve ever had! French toast with all the extras, a banana smoothie and cappuccino. We may have had to wait 35 minutes to get a seat, but so worth it! We has food babies before the day had even started.

Voo Store

Second dream store, similar to Soho House but with a more eclectic range of products. Selling everything from candles and bags to the best Acne shoes. They also stocked the APC bag I want in a colour I’d not seen before, swoon!

The graffiti in Berlin is so cool, unlike London where it’s usually slap dash and split wrong, Berlin is full of artistic graffiti that makes everything look so colourful.

Bikini Berlin

A really cool shopping mall that has lots of ethical pop up shops in the centre and sells amazing ice cream.

Monkey Bar

Rooftop bar, which has an inside also! I had a Gina Colada which was incredible, I could easily have drank seven of them. Monika had a Prosecco slushie and the view was insanely good!

girl crushes

Seeing as I have so many girl crushes I thought it would be nice to do a blog post focusing on all the ladies style that I love and take inspiration from every day. For days when I can’t decide on what to wear, when I have an event or I’m lacking in inspiration, I always head to these Instagram’s below for new ideas of how to wear and style my clothes. I have such heart eyes for all these amazing women.

Lucy Williams

British fashion and travel blogger Lucy Williams is probably my biggest girl crush. Her style is always impeccable and I aspire to be her completely. Often sporting Re-done jeans and Reformation dresses with her vintage Balenciaga bag, she’s a total dream.

Instagram – LucyWilliams02

Jeanne Damas

French mega babe and founder of classic French clothing brand Rouje, Jeanne has the ultimate Parisian style and is effortlessly sexy. I think every female I know loves her and wishes she could look that cool 24/7.

Instagram – Jeanne Damas

Courtney Crews

Courtney Crews is a new woman on my radar of instagram’s I always check for style inspo, just look at that yellow suit! Her style is very minimal and scandi, and whoever takes her photos is amazing.

Instagram – CourtneeRuthie

Megan Adelaide

Megan, along with her best friend Taylr (below) are my favourite American gal pal duo. Their styles really compliment each other and the way Megan incorporates tailoring into everyday looks is something I really aspire to.

Taylr Anne

Just look at those brown and tan hues Taylr has going on! Taylr’s hair is also the dream and exactly how I want mine to look. Just scrolling through her Instagram makes me so jealous but also gives me such motivation to invest in classic and timeless pieces.

Lizzy Hadfield

Lizzy Hadfield, recently moved to London in THE most amazing apartment, is a blogger and Youtuber who’s videos I love to watch! Her ‘testing basics’ series is so good as she trials hughstreet to high end pieces. Also best pals with Linsdey below!

Instagram – ShotFromTheStreet

Lindsey Holland

Blogger and physio Lindsey is another of the London blogger girls I’d love to be like. Her style is so great and she always has on the best great jeans that fit her like a glove! Lindsey’s Instagram is my go-to when I can’t decide what to wear.

Instagram – RopesofHolland

Camille Rowe

Just like Jeanne, Camille is another woman who everyone I know loves. Half French, half American Californian gal, Camille has the ideal package! Her youtube series with Vogue all about mindfulness is amazing, I’m a real hippie and I love that Camille is to. Watch here.

Instagram – Fingermonkey

Camille Charriere

Another French babe (every French girl is cool, right?) Camille is one of those girls for me who I’m always thinking ‘I want your life’. Everything she does is just effortlessly cool and that yellow jumper she wore at Copenhagen fashion week is, uh the dream!

Instagram – Camileecharriere

I seem to have a French/Parisian theme with girls I have crushes on! Anne-Laure is another Parisian gal who, by the looks of things, owns everything from Realisation! She’s always travelling and having amazing pictures taken in all the great locations she visits.

And there we are, all the girl crushes (that I can think of) who’s style I adore, life I’d love to live and women who are absolutely killing it in everything they do.

Supporting your pals

Before I start this post, I’d like to address the above illustration by Abbie Lilley. I’m so in love with her style, so I was super chuffed when she asked to draw me. Check out her instagram, she’s illustrated a few photos from ALEXACHUNG’S collection that I’m head over heels for. Thank you dearly Abbie for this illustration.

For the main body of this post, I want to talk about supporting your pals, your family and all your mates in their creative, business and aspirational ventures. Supporting your pals is a phrase I use often and I completely stand by. I’m a massive advocate for being by your friends side when they launch a new project, have their first gig or show and buying their product/service as if you’re a paying customer. I’ve had friends who’ve launched magazines and I’ve always bought them. Even if they’ve offered a freebie, I always pay! I think this shows a great friendship when your mates give you full support for anything and everything you’re doing.

Your mates put all their hard work and their money into their pursuit and I love seeing the diversity of things my friends are getting up to, whether that be a magazine launch, coffee shop or clothing brand. I’m a believer in karma so I hope if and when roles are reversed all my mates would be there supporting me and my work just the same as I support them!

Processed with VSCO with hb1 presetProcessed with VSCO with hb1 presetimage3-7.jpgProcessed with VSCO with hb1 preset

I’ve had so much support for this blog so far and although it’s very small and still rough around the edges with me finding my feet on, A: how wordpress works, B: finding photographers and C: finding a niche and style that perfectly fits what I want to pursue. These photos, as with my previous post where taken but Ella. Whilst she was down in London we crammed in as many shoots as we could as I totally love her composition and style of photography.

My dress is from Free People (it also comes in yellow and white, which although the English weather isn’t great at the moment, I’m dying to purchase). I’ve paired it with my “I wish they were Chanel” shoes from Pimkie via ASOS that I bought earlier this year. One day I will own the Chanel pair, I’m sure of it.

My bag, I originally saw on my girl crush Lucy Williams (that girl can do no wrong, such big heart eyes for her). It’s from a small Scottish brand called Bohemia Design who handmake and sell them for the incredibly affforable prices. I bought the Beldi style in small and it’s the perfect size and I also made a pinstripe drawstring bag to go inside it so all my belongings aren’t on show. I’m all for smaller brands who handmake their products for an affordable price, I’ll definitely be purchasing from there again.

I’m back, in Primrose Hill

Processed with VSCO with hb1 presetProcessed with VSCO with a5 preset

Hello, it’s been a while since I last posted and even longer since I last put up an outfit post! But I’m back and hoping to make this a regular thing.

I met with the lovely Ella last week to shoot some outfits in Primrose Hill and to give us an excuse to eat cake in a really cute cafe. I chose to wear what are definitely my favourite jeans (so far!). I bought them from Beyond Retro in Soho a couple months ago and have worn them at least twice a week since! They’re Calvin Klein and although I’m not sure on the name of the fit I’d say they’re just a high rise straight fit. I’m a shade off 6ft so find jeans the most difficult clothing item to get to fit me. Although I do adore these jeans they stretch and get baggy so much after a few wears so I’m always washing them to shrink them back down, any tips on how to stop this?

I also think that after buying these jeans I’m never going back to skinnies, all those years of having my blood circulation cut off are so not worth it. Similar to these jeans I’d check out Asos Florence jeans, they often sell out super fast but are ever so worth a purchase.

Processed with VSCO with hb1 preset

Processed with VSCO with a5 preset

The comfiest shoes that aren’t trainers are definitely these loafers, purchased from New Look a few months ago. I wasn’t sure I suited them until I played around with a few outfits and scrolled through Pinterest for inspo that I fell in love with them. Even though I wish they were Gucci, they’re definitely decent second bests! I often pair them with these jeans or my white Levi 501’s, dresses and denim shorts.

My trusty little bag served me very well through the whole of Glastonbury and didn’t get damaged at all which I’m super chuffed about. I nabbed it off Depop for around £20 and love it to pieces.

Processed with VSCO with hb1 presetProcessed with VSCO with hb1 preset

Cute car aside, this crochet top has to be my favourite item I’ve bought all year. I found it in a flea market in Lewes and only paid £6 for it!!! Every time I wear it someone asks me where it’s from, the label inside is a really old Hennes label (half of H&M) so I’m guessing this top was made before Hennes and Mauritz came together! It’s thick and quite heavy so I’m hoping it’s going to last me a good long time. Any similar tops I find I’ll link at the end of this post.
